On May 16th 2018, Nobu Hotel Marbella the luxury establishment located in Puente Romano was officially opened. An enchanting event in presence of the founders of Nobu Hotels: the owner and executive chef Nobu Matsuhisa; co-founder and Hollywood Star Robert De Niro; the Hollywood Producer Meir Teper; the director of operations Struan McKenzie; and CEO Trevor Horwell. In addition to Daniel Shamoon and the Sr. Alcaldesa of Marbella (Lady Mayor) Angeles Muñoz as well as select VIP guests.

With a touch of Japanese culture characterizing the brand, the sake ceremony delighted the distinguished Marbella, Golden Mile audience as well as the founder of KAMSYN & delegates from ESSENTIAL Magazine Marbella which were invited to discover a special tradition that the co-founders of the brand carry out in the opening establishments.

What does it consist in ? After filling a barrel with the well-known Japanese drink, in this case with special sake Nobu, the owners can be seen breaking the lid with wooden mallets. Then, the broth is served to all attendees and, as an official welcome, guests are invited to celebrate a toast as a sign of good luck.
